Have you been curious about essential oils but you aren’t sure how you would actually use them?
I get it.
I felt pretty overwhelmed when I got my starter kit of the 10 most popular oils. So I armed myself with an incredible essential oils reference book, asked questions in the online community and just started to use them. I quickly became obsessed with these magical oils and they have now become an integral part of my life.
I’m here to calm the confusion and share some awesome ways you can use these oils on the daily.
5 cents per drop!
Diffuse with Lavender + Peppermint when seasonal threats are high and your body is reacting to the environment.
Diffuse on its own for an uplifting way to neutralize bathroom or kitchen odours.
Dissolves anything sticky! Adhesives… gum… a stubborn price tag you can’t quite peel off. Just apply a drop directly to whatever and easily scrap the residue away.
Dry up a runny nose – apply 1 drop of lemon to the bridge of your nose and breathe deeply.
Add 2 drops to a stainless steel water bottle or large glass of water for cleansing and detoxification. BONUS it’ll get you drinking more water!
Treat your feet by mixing a few drops with Melaleuca (Tea Tree) and fractionated coconut oil and massage on tired, dry, cracked feet.
Flavour your favourite dishes. Whenever your recipe calls for lemon juice or zest, add a drop of Lemon essential oil to give it a rich flavour. You can also add a drop to warm water or your favourite herbal tea.
Mood Booster. When you feel tired, low energy or lack motivation,rub a drop of Lemon on your hands, the back of your neck and through your hair. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you feel better.
Add a couple drops of Lemon essential oil to your dishwater. Lemon has amazing cleaning qualities and your glassware will sparkle.
A Chemical Free All-Purpose Cleaner. Mix 5-6 drops Lemon essential oil with water and vinegar in a glass or stainless steel spray bottle to cleanse and purify surfaces.
Preserve cut fruit: spray Lemon essential oil to keep your cut fruit fresh until serving.
Polish Your Leathers & Furniture. Preserve and prevent leather from splitting with a Lemon soaked cloth.
Freshen Up Your Laundry. Instead of using toxic dryer sheets, add a few drops of Lemon to a damp wash cloth or wool dryer balls and toss them in the dryer with your laundry. Make sure to set the dryer to a low temperature cycle as high heat will lessen the effects of the oil.

Take A Calming Lavender Bath. Add 4 drops of Lavender essential oil to 1 cup of Epsom salts and add this to your bath water for super relaxing, spa like experience.
Soothe your feet and legs after a long day or a tough work out. Rub Lavender, Lemongrass and some fractionated coconut oil on your achy legs and feet.
Clear up skin irritations associated with chafing. Mix three parts fractionated coconut oil with one part Lavender essential oil in a small spray or roller bottle. Great for little ones!
Bring on the ZZZ’s. Rub on the bottoms of the feet or add 2-3 drops to your diffuser for a more restful sleep. You can also place Lavender on a pillow to help a restless toddler (or adult) fall asleep and stay asleep. This also works to calm down an anxious pet. (Think thunder storms or fire crackers!)
Freshen up your Mattress. Sprinkle a mixture of 1 cup baking soda and 10 drops of lavender essential oil over your mattress. Allow the mixture to sit for at least one hour then use the vacuum hose to clean it up. You can also combine with drops of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Clove, or Rosemary.
Soothe a burn. The next time someone gets burnt (sun burns count); apply Lavender oil to the affected area to soothe skin irritation, reduce redness and ease swelling.
Flavour Twist. Lavender adds a unique flavour to marinades, custards, breads, cookies, icings, honey and syrup.
Homemade Aftershave. Use after shaving to soothe and soften skin and to lessen the redness and burning caused by razor burn.
Take The “Ouch” Out. One drop of Lavender will help relieve the sensitivity of gums, dry or chapped lips and cuts and scrapes.
Calm The Mind. Apply Lavender to the temples, back of neck and to the wrists to ease anxious feelings, stress and promote mental clarity. You can also diffuse during the day or night.
Take The Itch Out. Rub Lavender essential oil onto an itchy tummy while pregnant or use after a bug bite or sting.

Clear Your Airways. Dilute a drop of Peppermint oil combined with fractionated coconut oil and place under your nose to help you breathe easily.
Cool Your Hot Feet. Add Peppermint to a cold compress and place on your overworked feet.
Relief From Summer Heat. Add a few drops of Peppermint essential oil to a spray bottle of water when you REALLY need to cool down!
Got Bad Breath? Use a drop of Peppermint with Lemon in water for a healthy, refreshing mouth rinse.
Take A Deep Breath. Inhale a drop of Peppermint deeply to invigorate lungs and increase alertness.
Feeling Stressed? Apply a drop to your neck and forehead with Lavender to relieve tension and pressure.
A Joint Effort. Peppermint is a great way to cool joints without taking an ice bath. It helps to soothe occasional muscle and joint discomfort.
Tame Your Tummy. Rub on the stomach or add a drop to a large glass of water for occasional digestive discomfort.
Shake It Up. Add a drop of Peppermint to your chocolate Trim Shake or protein powder for a delicious treat.
Control your Cravings. Most people eat until they feel full. Diffusing Peppermint will help reign in the urge to snack on junk food and control your appetite.
Stay Alert. Inhale Peppermint from a handkerchief, car diffuser or straight from the bottle to perk you up on long drives.
Awaken Your Senses. Before your work out, apply a bit of Peppermint to your chest or just take a deep breathe straight from the open bottle.

An Immune System Boost. Take 1-2 drops in a Veggie Capsule when you feel like you’re coming down with something. Do this for 7-10 days in row maximum then ease off!
Happy Feet. Did you or your kids walk barefoot in a public place? Your feet absorb more than you think. Apply one drop each of Oregano and Thyme diluted with 6-7 drops of fractionated coconut oil. Crisis averted!
A Taste of Italy. Flavour your spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, roast, or any other entrée for a delicious flavour. Because Oregano is so strong, dip a toothpick inside the oil to slowly add to the recipe.You can always add more.
Keep Your Home Clean. Mix 3 drops of Oregano with water in a spray bottle and spray it in corners of the shower, sink and other damp, dark areas.
Love Your Toes. Apply one drop of Oregano to 6 drops of fractionated coconut oil to soften cuticles and rough spots around your toe nails. Oregano keeps impurities out!
Protect Your System. Make your own wellness blend by combining 10 drops Oregano, 10 drops Protective Blend (On Guard), 10 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree) and 10 drops Lemon and 10 drops of Frankincense topped with fractionated coconut oil in a 10ml roller bottle. By putting the properties of these oils to work, you will feel better naturally!
Got Cold Feet? Dilute 1 drop of Oregano in several drops of fractionated coconut oil and massage quickly into feet to help warm the body. I suggest covering your feet with socks after.
Less Is More. In nearly all applications, more Oregano is not the answer. Oregano is one of the most potent essential oils—one drop is usually all you need. When used improperly, be sure to have fractionated coconut oil on hand to dilute its potency if needed.

When In Doubt Use Frank! Frankincense is literally good for everything so if you aren’t sure about what to use, always reach for good ol’ Frank.
Calm Down. Inhale or diffuse with Lavender and Peppermint and apply to the back of your neck to help calm stress and relieve tension.
It’s Anti- Aging! Frankincense can help promote youthful, radiant looking skin and slow the signs of aging by reducing the appearance of skin imperfections. Use a drop of Frankincense with 3 drops of carrier oil or in unscented lotion.
Spread The Love. Frankincense uplifts the mood and creates a sense of peace and calm. Wear it as a perfume to lift your mood and the mood of those around you.
Overworked Hands? Rub Frankincense on your hands with fractionated coconut oil after a long day of gardening or working to promote a normal inflammatory response.
Time To Focus. Apply 1-2 drops to your temples and the back of your neck or diffuse to help improve your concentration.
Nails Of Steel. Dry weather can take a toll on your nails. Apply a drop of Frankincense to strengthen weak nails.
Cellular Vigor. Take Frankincense in a Veggie Capsule every day to support healthy cells in your body!

Bathroom Cleaner. Combine 10 drops of Melaleuca with ½ cup baking soda and ¼ cup vinegar to clean the toilet.
When Soap Just Isn’t Enough. Melaleuca is great for removing permanent marker from skin.
Baby Bottom Remedy. Mix with fractionated coconut oil, Lavender, and Frankincense relieve baby’s irritated skin.
Too Much Fun In The Sun? Apply to the skin during your family vacation or after a long day in the sun.
Get Your Om Back. Spray Melaleuca on your yoga mat after class to keep it clean.
Handy For Hikers. Take Melaleuca essential oil in your pack. It’s like first aid for the skin and is a great cleansing agent for occasional scrapes and other skin irritations.
Boost Your Immune Function. Diffuse Melaleuca or rub it on the bottom of your feet. Combine with the Protective blend (On Guard) for even more immune support.
Chemical-Free Cleaning. Dilute 8-10 drops with water in a spray bottle to clean around the house. It’s great to use in damp places and in the bathroom!
